Spanish students at West Cary Middle School (WCMS) participate in a Spanish language learning program and curriculum that teaches students the Spanish language content, along with the culture The intentional goal and desired results is for students to successfully demonstrate growth in Spanish language skills targeted in the 4 essential language areas (SWRL).

With participation in high-quality, rigorous, interactive, & hands-on learning opportunities (measured by formal/informal assessments).
Students are prepared for advancement to Spanish level 2 in high school after the achievement of Spanish 1. After mastery of basic Spanish skills and successful completion of Spanish 1, students are prepared for advancement to Spanish 2 in high school. participated in interactive & centered around the 4'Cs of learning in an effective classroom environment:

In addition to the Spanish I Curriculum standards and modeling the World-Readiness Framework (COMMUNICATION, CULTURES, CONNECTIONS, COMPARISONS, & COMMUNITIES) to develop lifelong learners by introducing, providing, and utilizing a combination of Spanish learning tools/resources that support and encourage students to develop proficiency in the Spanish language and a global perspective.
